Mid Feb 2020

As last year we had a great time in Appi. We were again lucky with lots of powder and off piste skiing and Gerhild was happy with the always well groomed runs.

We rarely left the hotel after skiing because we were happy with the in the package included buffet dinner and services provided in the hotel.

So all good.

Best regards,
Gerhard and Gerhild

Late January 2020

I really enjoyed Appi.

The room was great – more like a suite.

One thing worth notifying to guests is that there are 3 buildings making up Appi Hills Shirakaba-No-Mori and we were staying bin the 3rd building which we didn’t know so on arrival we got off the bus at the wrong building and had to wait for next bus, although later we found we could probably have walked up the hill

All 3 buildings have very good ski in ski out access, better than the hotel next to the onsen.  It was very easy to walk or bus to the onsen.

Like all hotels there wasn’t a bar area or coffee shop to spend time in after skiing, unlike Tomamu The Tower which has a nice guest lounge where they serve free champagne
Cheers

Early Feb 2019

APPI was good. All went well and our connections all worked, just in time. Convenient place to go to from Tokyo.

Hotel was fine for the price. We found a good restaurant or two. Breakfast very good.

It was stormy so the high lifts were closed most of the time but we preferred snow to blue sky so were happy enough. We found plenty of good tree skiing.

Appi made up for everything. It's a great mountain with nice groomed runs for Gerhild and plenty of opportunities of off pist runs for me. I've skied powder every day.

We had buffet dinner every day in Villa 3, we didn't bother to go anywhere else, too lazy and too tired! We paid cash but noticed that almost everyone else had coupons. Maybe you can get a better deal next time with dinner included?!

We think we will go to Appi next year again.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Gerhard and Gerhild

Hi Gerhard & Gerhild,

Yes. We can include dinner coupons in the package which would work out cheaper than local prices. We look forward to assisting your next trip!

We enjoyed our time at Appi also, snow was good and we had a huge room that had a great view of the mountain.

APPI Hills Shirakaba-no-mori was excellent and well located to access the ski slopes. The hotel had a great restaurant, helpful staff and the room was huge by Japanese standards. The in house public bath was nice but the nearby onsen (included in our package) was spectacular, so beautiful set amongst the trees overlooking the beech forest. Lift infrastructure at Appi was really good, no flat spots between chairs, some excellent tree runs as well. Shuttle bus service between the different hotels and train station was very efficient and overall I’d recommend Appi as a family friendly resort for kids of all ages, I’d happily go back anytime.

Cant wait for next year .Thanks again for all your help

Cheers Jodie

Mid January 2018

But we did have little trouble while making check-in for our last night staying at Morioka Grand Hotel Annex.

The clerk couldn't find our reservation when we arrived, and take for a while (around 1.5 hour) to had final confirmation from Appi resort.

The food from some certain restaurants was great and delicious. I and my friends though that if there is option with food coupon (ticket for discount of restaurants) in your package would be perfect. We did have very great memory in this trip.

Great thanks for your arrangement and support. We're looking forward our next trip from JAPANSNOW ACCOMODATION again.

Late January 2017

Stayed at Appi Grand Villa 3 for 4 days in Jan 2017. This hotel is quite big ( about 13 floors ) comfortable, but not over the top. Facilities are good, including Onsen and staff very friendly and helpful, you could get away with little or no Japanese language as most spoke some English.Virtually ski in ski out, just a 2 minute walk before you can ski down to the lift and you can ski back to the door.

This hotel is a little way from the main Appi Grand Hotel where you can use their facilities with no additional cost but there is a regular free shuttle around the resort so you can access the main area quite easily. Advanced runs are confined to the top part of the mountain, all with various lengths of green to get back onto the lifts. The most challenging run, with a tree run thru the middle of a split ungroomed run, is short  and has a long green run to access and even longer green back to the lift. If you are looking to be challenged all day I'd suggest this is not the mountain for you, if you like a bit of black and are happy with a good bit of cruising reds (our blue) and greens, then Appi would suit just fine.

I travelled from Haneda airport to Morioka by train (Via Tokyo) and bus from Morioka station, I had no delays but recommend checking connections, to avoid waiting time. Hisae at Japan snow accommodation organised all my accommodations in her usual friendly and efficient manner, re arranging dates to work in with my itinerary as we went, also picking up the deals with meals and lift ticket inclusions that were available.

Hisae has organised my Japan trips for a number of years now and I will continue to use Japan Snow Accommodation in the future.

Hisae (Japan Snow Accommodation booking Agent) was very easy to communicate with, very organised and kept me up to date. The whole booking process flowed very smoothly and I was really happy with the service.I would definitely use Japan Snow Accomodation again. My week long stay at Appi Grand Villa 3 was wonderful.

The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much bother. The main gondola is only a short ski away. The hotel rooms are big by Japanese standards and had a great view over the surrounding mountains. The buffet breakfast consists of Japanese or continental selections and there is plenty of variety. Lockable ski lockers for your ski gear next to the mountain exit on the ground floor. There is a large onsen in the basement. There are regular shuttle buses to transport you to the other hotels in the Appi resort complex or back to Morioka. Appi is only a sort bus or train ride from morioka( about 1 hour). Appi resort also run a day trip to Shimokura resort on Fridays. I would definitely recommend a visit - a small resort with only 3 lifts and hardly any skiers.

The snow we had the day we visited was some of the best i have ever skied in Japan. It was a great day of skiing at a tiny resort. Appi is a good sized resort and has some good steep runs and long runs.It takes a few days to explore properly. We got loads of snow while we were there,I really enjoyed my visit to Appi.

Late January 2015

We had a wonderful trip! The room was clean and big. Food was very good. Steak and crab (buffet restaurant) was fresh and yummy. Beef (まえさわぎゅう) served at Korean BBQ was high-quality. Wide slopes and non crowed (even holiday). Everyone can find the slopes that best suit their level. The photo is still prepared when it is ready we will send you.

Best,
YingChe
