Togari Onsen
Togari Onsen Snow Resort is nestled in the Sekita mountain range, which borders Nagano and Niigata Prefectures. Take in panoramic views of Nozawa Onsen Village and the picturesque Shinano river basin while you enjoy our many, long runs.
There is a little secret about this resort. Since the Uma nose Pair Lift on the right hand side of the course map got suspended, the Snow Vacance Village area has been abandaned and most of the area is non-groomed. So when you get fresh snow, you can enjoy ungroomed powder. There is free shuttle bus run from the bottom of the Snow Vancance Village to take you back to the main slope. Then you can go back up to the top and keep doing the ungroomed runs until all trashed. The local people call this "Shuttle Mawashi" meaning keep going around and around by shuttle to enjoy the fresh POW until gone.
This is the day after snow falls on the side of Snow Vacance Village.
Togari Onsen offers Yuki-Chari which means riding bike on the snow. It is Japan's very first Snowbike activity. It is interesting to see the snowbikes carried on the chairlifts. It is a special feeling to ride amoungst all the skiers and boarders!
Togari Onsen has two public Onsen in the village. One is Akatsuki no Yu which is only one minute walk from the Pegasus Gelende. The other one is Nozwomi no Yu which is on the Orion Gelende side. Both have outdoor Onsen.
The best way to get to Togari Onsen is to catch Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Iiyama station. Then catch a local Iiyama line from Iiyama station to Togari Nozawa Onsen. Then your accommodation staff will pick you up from the train station which we can arrange for you.
