Where?
Ryuoo Ski Park is a snow resort located near Shiga Kogen in Nagano. It is 45 minutes by shuttle bus from JR Iiyama station if you are coming by Shinkansen from Tokyo. There is also free shuttle bus from Nagano Dentetsu Yudanaka station which would take only 30 minutes. We can help you with the bus timetable and booking.
What?
Ryuoo has good elevation. The top of Mt. Ryuoo is 1,930 metres and the elevation difference is about 1,000 metres. There is about six kilometres distance from the top to the bottom to enjoy! Because of the high altitude, the snow quality is great!!!
After getting to the ropeway top, there is an area with one beginner run and three intermediate runs. This way, the beginners can also get to the mountain top and enjoy the runs with amazing panoramic views looking over the Nagano alps!
For advanced skiers and boarders, there are three non-groomed advanced courses called Kiotoshi Courses from the ropeway top. There is a 1,300 metrers long natural half pipe run. This is a powder fan's dream!
All in all, Ryuoo is suited to both families and powder hunters! There are English lessons available for beginners too.

You must book the Kamakura pot dining at Ryuoo!! Kamakura means "Igloo". You can enjoy the Japanese style hot pot dinner inside the warm Kamakura. It is 4,000 yen per person (2020 season) including a drink and marshmallow to cook at the fire outside. The hot pot looks so cute!
Accommodation
Most of the accommodation is located on the slopes in Ryuoo. So, each hotel will come to pick you up from the resort bus terminal and put you in the special snow vehicle with caterpillar style tyres to take you to the hotel.
