Where
Geto is located in Iwate prefecture north west of the main island of Honshu. It is about 2.5 hours by bullet train from Tokyo to Kitakami then 50 minutes by bus or shuttle.
What
Geto Kogen receives an unbelievable amount of snowfall.
The mountain is not suited for beginners. All the courses are from the intermediate to the advanced. The parts colored in purple on the map below are the tree runs.
Another good thing about Geto is that it never gets crowded. The weekend might be busy but if you go there during the week no queues are guaranteed. The powder will be all yours!
Accommodation
We offfer three diverse choices of accommodation
Geto Camp 88 is a very unique style of accommodation located at the resort centre dome. There are 88 bunk beds in a massive dormitory room. You can use the communal bathroom, lounge area and resturant. As this is right on the slopes you can quickly reach the mornings fresh powder
Semi Onsen Ryokan is a an authentic Japanese ryokan. This ryokan is located about 10 minutes off the mountain, but there is free hotel shuttles to & from the resort. There are 5 types of Onsen that can sooth your body after long day skiing or snowboarding in the deep powder.
Premium Stay Gou is an amazing accommodation with slope views right in front of you. Open up the curtains & the slope is right there. There are 3 x standard type rooms accommodating up to 4 guests and 1 larger superior type room accommodating up to 6 guests. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are located in the Geto Centre Dome where you can use the Onsen facility located at the Geto Camp 88 (dormitory accommodation). Dining options include a Japanese restaurant located in the same building and a shared kitchen and dining area for guest use.
