Minakami Hotel Juraku is a big hotel.  Overall our stay was good.  Staff were friendly and helpful.  Meals were buffet style with lots of choice.

As a skier, there were no drying or locker rooms, so all equipment stayed in the car.  The hotel had a large number of non skiing guests - even in the middle of winter.

The hotel' s location was great with a number of ski resorts within easy reach (using a hire vehicle).  Undercover parking was available.  For the fantastic period we were there, it was also very essential to have a 4x4 capable vehicle due to the large snow falls every night.  We got to the ski areas every day without any hassles - just driver slowly.

The town had quite a few eateries within a respectable walk if you didnt want to eat inhouse, and Minakami had its own craft brewery. Overall happy to recommend the hotel.  It would be a very interesting place to visit in the warmer months with access to many walking tracks in the mountains.

Cheers
john
