Oze Iwakura hasn’t been discovered by overseas skiers or snowboarders yet so there is a higher chance that you can just have the powder days all to yourselves.
As the resort is located inland and away from the coast, the snow is very dry!
Oze Iwakura is located in the Gunma region. By train, it is about 65 minutes from Tokyo to Jomo-Kogen by Shinkansen (bullet train) then there is a shuttle bus from Joao-Kogen to Oze Iwakura twice a day. The bus takes about 2 hours. The other option is a highway express bus from Tokyo station to Katashina-mura village. This is run only once a day in the morning and takes about 3 hours 30 minutes. The public transport is pretty limited but we will help you with the timetables and directions to ensure your transit is simple and enjoyable.
