Shiga Kogen is made up of 19 ski areas covered by one lift pass. There are approximately 80 trails offering a large variety of terrain for any type of skiers and snowboarders. There is also a free shuttle bus service for lift ticket holders that transports guests around the region. Thanks to Shiga Kogen’s high-altitude, which rises to over 2,000m, the area receives large quantities of dry powder snow. The largest individual ski area is Yakebitaiyama, which has 14 trails, including a long 2,500m trail. 

 

Less than 2 hours from Tokyo by bullet train Shiga Kogen is located in Nagano and is the largest snow resort in all of Japan. There is a bus from Nagano station to Shiga Kogen, then about 10 minutes to the Shiga Kogen Prince Hotel. The area is also famous for The Snow Monkeys.
