You were brilliant as usual. I think we have been travelling with you for 10+ years (and some of us much longer) and there has never been a glitch. I don’t think you could say that about many travel booking services. Especially enjoy your research into less well known uncrowded places
Hotel Fusch
This was my third stay at Hotel Fusch.
It is quirky and I like that - I have never seen so much clutter and stuff.
Jungko is as friendly as ever and she had 3 staff this year who were excellent
I get the sense that it is getting hard for her:
She must be close to 80
Japan Ski Tours have opened the lodge next door so she has competition
There were a couple of “suits” there one day. I don’t know but maybe the bank or real estate agents ….???
I am not sure if Fusch would be profitable with 3 extra staff
Rooms are spacious and housekeeping was fine.
Meals were good but it is better to ask for Japanese rather than Western option.
Ani
It was a heavy snow year and we had good snowfalls every night and most days.
Great skiing.
There is nothing you can do but when the gondola is shut by wind there is not much skiing left at Ani. We just skinned up to the top one day after lunch.
Off piste wasn’t getting skied out
Japan Ski Tours is publicising the back country beyond the snow monsters and there are now maps and routes suggested. You need the right day as it is weather exposed and there are avalanche areas but it is great terrain.
Transport
Taxi company was good
On time
Stopped at a supermarket
It was expensive but he did have a 6 hour round trip so …..

We loved the Fusch. In such a sanitised and uniform world, this quirky little hotel is a standout .
There is nothing modern or ordered about this hotel. It has an old world chaotic charm about it , which is refreshing and unique in this day and age.
With a shuttle to the uncrowded slopes of Ani, it's still a hidden gem, but for how much longer remains to be seen.
I hope you find this helpful

Our stay at Hotel Fusch was a real treat. The family and team who run Hotel Fush, and guests staying there, is what makes it special. If you have any questions, someone is there to help. The location is perfect. It’s a real extended family vibe which we absolutely loved. We will be back.
Hisae at Japan Snow Accommodation was a life saver in making the booking, as we really wanted to go here but couldn’t figure out how to book it. And when we had to make some changes they went above and beyond to help. It was seamless and really great communication. I thoroughly recommend the team at Snow Japan Accommodation.

Loved Hotel Fusch - and the owner who was sooo hospitable. Rooms large as were meals. Hotel has an absolute eclectic charm which was off-set by the cute regional train journey to get there. The skiing offered quiet slopes, some tree skiing and powder that you expect when in Japan. As usual excellent service from Hisae and Japan Snow Accommodation.

What an amazing experience of Japanese hospitality and old fashioned service we received at Hotel Fusch. From the pick up from the station at the beginning of our stay to the beautiful meals and daily lifts to and from the ski fields we could not have asked for better service. The quaint, older style hotel with huge rooms was very unexpected and our hostess was an amazing bundle of energy.
