Yoshy's Back Country Report - Furanodake (Hokkaido) -

This is one of the mountains called Furanodake for back country skiing or snowboarding in Hokaido.  A local snowboarder Yoshy climbed up to the top (1912 m).  He used mountain skies to get to the point called Hokoiwa and took off the skies, then climbed up to the top with crampons and picks.

Look how brave Yoshy is! That looks very scary to me....

After this acheivement, he enjoyed skiing down the deep powder.  Yoshy goes to climb mountains every weekend for training.  His goal is climbing up Mt. Cook in New Zealand next year.  Good luck, Yoshy!

This would be the last blog for 2008.
