Minakami


Chalet La Neige is a ski in ski out lodge owned by a very friendly local family at Minakami Houdaigi Ski Resort. It is located right next to the No.8 Quad chairlift. It is a perfect location to hunt the Minakami powder if you have powder days!

The lounge area with high ceiling & wood fire is nice and relaxing to get together with your family or friends over some drinks from the bar.

There are western style rooms and Japanese style rooms. There is no private bathroom in the guest room but you can use the Onsen style communal bathroom. You can use it privatey if you request (weekdays only).

The package is including both breakfast & dinner. All meals are carefully cooked by the owner with beautiful local produce.

If coming by train you will need to get to Minakami.

If you are coming by Joetsu Shinkansen (bullet train) get off at JR Jyoumou-kogen (usually spelt Jomo Kogen) station. From Jomo Kogen station, you can catch a local train or a bus to JR Minakami station. 

From JR Minakami station catch a public bus and get off at the bus stop called "Kubo". We will advise you more details including the bus timetable.

The lodge staff will be able to pick you up from the bus stop, which we can arrange in advance.

 

train

Minakami town is the gateway to Minakami Kogen Ski Resort which is perfect for families, Houdaigi suited to both powder hunters and families, Tenjin famous backcountry area for advanced skiers / boarders. Minakami town is also home to Takaragawa Onsen and many more.

The entire area is less discovered by western people and offers a more local Japanese experience. 

From Tokyo, the fastest route to Minakami is the Joetsu Shinkansen (bullet train) to Jomo Kogen Station, which takes only 66 minutes or 2 hours by car.

If you are using the public transport, we will help you plan the itenerary and also assist with the route and timetable. There is an economical 3 day bus pass which you can use in the Minakami town, which you can buy online. The bus pass is also avaialble at the tourist office at Jomo Kogen station or Minakami station.

Having your own car is the best if you would like to travel to different resorts with no hassle. You could hire a car in Minakami or Tokyo.
