Nozawa - amazing snow - but getting too crowded - good mix of terrain - plenty of nightlife (but hard to get into places due to number of tourists).

Tokawaya - amazing hotel - amazing staff - amazing service and food (but don't tell anyone as we want to make sure we can stay there again next time)!

Your service - very good - easy process to book - good options presented for our budget. No complaints!

Early January 2015

I can’t thank you enough for your assistance with my recent trip to Japan!

From the first email and all through the process you were professional, helpful and informative. You found us the perfect hotels in the best locations and you saved us by finding a driver when I called you after we missed our train!

I have already recommended you and your excellent service to my friends who will be visiting Japan this coming summer.

Thanks again and best regards,

Robert Laker

I just want to thank you for all your help with the booking and to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at Tokiwaya, it was a real treat.

Late February 2014

I had a great week at Nozawa Onsen

The snow was great and the mountain had enough challenging terrain to keep
it fun. To our relief, they didn't groom every run to within an inch of
their life like they do at Shiga Kogen and they didn't make a huge fuss
about going out of bounds and doing tree runs. The terrain is varied
enough that you could enjoy the week without getting bored.

Tokiwaya ryokan was very special. The owner/Manager, whose name I've
unfortunately forgotten, went out of his way to help and tried very hard
with his English. His unassuming friendly politeness was sriking, even in
Japan.

We loved the very traditional restaurant and onsen and the location was central to everything.

The traditional village layout of Nozawa really makes you feel like you're
in Japan. I'd rate it way above most Japanese ski resorts I've visited.

Only negative is that there are already lots of Australians visiting
(although fortunately not working there on lifts etc like Niseko) and it
became incredibly crowded on weekends when Japanese from Tokyo and Nagoya
arrived.

In terms of the booking it went smoothly and they knew all about me when I
arrived.

Early February 2014

Our stay at Tokiwaya Ryokan was a amazing experience of Japanese culture and hospitality.

The breakfasts and dinners in the Tokiwaya restaurant consisted of traditional Japanese cuisine and would rival the Tetsuya Restaurant in Sydney.

The service was excellent and the rooms were clean. Only criticism is the lack of cupboard space in the room.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Tokiwaya Ryokan for the second year in a row and hopefully we will get a chance to go back again.

Japan Snow Accommodation's service was very professional and their advice was helpfully.

Early Jan 2016

Our ryokan was excellent, the staff were very helpful.

The onsen was great too, and the local town public onsen were worth visiting also.

I would recommend Zao onsen to anyone who would like to experience a more traditional Japanese mountain experience and who like a more peaceful town than the busier places like Hakuba. I will go back in the future.

As always your service was great too.

All the best,
Andrew Maher

North Point Pension

Late January 2014 I had a wonderful trip.

"The serviced received from yourselves was very helpful and accommodating. You found me a very suitable room at my preferred budget during the peak time of the season.

The chalet itself was nicely furnished and the room was a generous size.

The hosts were very friendly and added to the ambience of the accommodation.

Mid February 2014.

Thank you for recommending North Point Pension for my recent trip to Niseko Hirafu.

Tim and Nic made my holiday! North Point is kept immaculate, and has all the facilities required for a comfortably stay and a great skiing experience.

The shuttle bus was frequent and not far from the chalet, I even walked home from the slopes on several occasions.

Overall I had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to go back next year!

Thanks

"North Point is kept immaculate, and has all the facilities required for a comfortably stay and a great skiing experience.

Day starts with a fabulous breakfast, then its mountain time with the fist run my Tim or Nic in the lodge van to the lifts. Generally there will be a second run around 9am for those in not such a hurry, which is kind of good , as there are no lift ques at this time.

Enjoyed the mountain, snow was great , and a nice change from skiing in Australia. I would go back again, in fact my mate I travelled with is already planning a group to return to North Point next year.

Once again thank you, and a huge thank-you to Nic and Tim at North Point Pension for their superb hospitality, and a lodge run to the highest standards."

Late February 2014

"On my third trip to Niseko, we stayed at North Point Pension. We absolutely loved it!

Our hosts were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even making our "made to order" breakfast each morning with eggs and bacon. They helped us with rentals, transportation, and recommendations for everything from restaurants to onsens. Thank you Nikki and Tim!

The pension had well spaced rooms that were very clean with heated floors (a must in the winter!). There were plenty of sinks and bathrooms for guests to use and an enormous showering area. They also had two living room areas to lounge or watch television and movies. Tons of bars and restaurants were within walking distance and the bus was less than five minutes away.

I would definitely stay at North Point Pension next time and recommend it to anyone going to Niseko."

Mid January 2014

"We had the most amazing time! We got North Point Pension so last minute and I don't think we could have found better accommodation. We were so happy with the lodging, and especially with the managers Tim and Nic.

The mountain was fantastic. We were lucky enough to get hooked up with some locals who showed us all the secret spots and it made the trip so special. We took a couple day trips to Kiroro and Rusutsu. I would highly recommend that others take some day trips to other resorts. It is very cool to experience some of the smaller resorts that are less catered to westerners.

We were incredibly happy with Niseko, such delightful food available everywhere and such welcoming people. I will definitely be back and am considering making it my home for a season or more! Thank you for helping us find lodging last minute. You were wonderfully helpful and we will definitely use you again!"

Early January 2014

We had an excellent trip, everything went buttery smooth all the way.

The mountain and it's conditions is as everyone knows world class, at least in the powder department. Prices are reasonable, and also worth mentioning is the food, in most places the food is diverse, made to go fresh and tasty. Our accommodation, I can't speak highly enough about it. Fairly central location, clean, nice rooms, brilliant breakfast and some really knowledgeable, helpful and sweet hosts.

All info I received from you guys were accurate and helpful and made our trip a breeze.

From Pal

January 2014

"North Point is by far the most relaxed and comfortable place I've stayed at in Hirafu

The pension itself has all the features needed post powder day such as a sitting room and separate TV room. The rooms are clean and larger than typical Japanese pensions.

The breakfast supplied keeps you going all day and there are snacks supplied at the end of the day. There is a drying room running continously so your ski kit will be toasty warm each morning.

North Point is close to all ammenities such as the lifts, shops and restaurants even though it's located in the lower part of the village. It's no more than a 10 min walk to the closest lift. The best onsen in town is a 3 min walk away.

Tim & Nic run the loadge and are always on hand to look after all the guests needs such as supplying a washing machine and dryer free of charge. They pick you up from the bus stop when you arrive and run you to the lifts each morning. If they can help, they will.

I've had a fantastic 10 night stay here and will gladly come back. Some rooms have a kind of mezzanine annex so could be good if you had a third person with you"

"North Point was a great place to stay tucked in a nice quiet part of town.

Nic and Tim were very accommodating. They picked me when I arrived and drove me to the lifts that following morning. Room were awesome and spacious. Thanks.

Late Feb 2017

My son previously had a ski accident and after two hours of travel to Nozawa he really needed to rest. Sam at Shikinoyado was very helpful and able to accommodate us straight away, which I appreciated very much. The location is excellent for skiers so that you don’t need to walk around the hilly town in ski boots.

Late January 2017

Our time in Nazawo onsen was fantastic. Kawahiro was great and the total Japanese immersion that we wanted. A bonus was that it is located by the gondola.

Thanks,

Early January 2015

We LOVED Nozawa. Love the ski in ski out accommodation. The only downside of Kawahiro is the smoking in the foyer which can travel up to the rooms. Next time we will request 100% non smoking.

We prefered the wider runs as 3 of us board and the others ski. This was only the second time the kids have skied and they did 10 days straight which was impressive. I would like to book 3 of them in for a lesson on our first day this next time. We really enjoyed the cultural experience when we travel.

Loved Tokyo too as you can see we took kids to zoo and we also went to the sumo tournament which we all throughly enjoyed.

We flew direct with jetstar last time and stayed overnight at the Airport hotel and then traveled the following day which was great.

Next year we were thinking 5 days skiing in one place and 5 days skiing in another then back toward Tokyo for 2-3 days before heading home. Would love to see the Geisha museum,  Hiroshima and anything else you recommend. Thanks in advance for next year..

Early January 2015

Kawahiro could not be closer to the Nagasaka Gondola (a few metres?).Definitely ski in and ski out and it made it very easy for our family to come in from the slopes whenever and head out skiing multiple times throughout the day if needed.

It is further from the main street for restaurant dinners though and the walk back up is steep-ish and can feel long if it is snowing heavily and you are trudging up with a full belly. We have tried the onsite restaurant set dinner (hot pot) and it was yummy but probably better for adults who can appreciate the large and complicated array of dishes, rather than kids (we asked for the more basic katsu don for the boys). Japanese breakfast is included (we also had cornflakes and milk with ours - possibly only included for foreigners?), which was a great novelty at the start but there were days when we probably just felt like toast! :)

The place is very traditional Japanese with tatami mats that can take some getting used to if you prefer softer beds. There is a clean and spacious onsen on site and while we also explored the village onsens, the onsite onsen (open from 4-10pm) made it very convenient if we didn't feel like heading out till dinner.

If you are looking for a ski lodge then this is not the place for you as other than the onsen and a smoking area on the ground floor, there is really no common areas to hang out in other than your actual room. Our room was a relatively spacious one for our family of 5 on the 3rd floor (the stairs will keep you fit!). Bathrooms are shared and the staff will give you a daily supply of hot water thermos for making tea etc.

This last one is looking out from our window!

Your service - top notch and smooth as usual. We will contact you next time we are in Japan again. :)

Nozawa the resort - even better than last time as there was more snow and lifts open (we were spring skiing in late March on our first visit). Hope this helps. :)

Cheers Mel

"Was honestly one of the best holidays I have ever had!

A perfect mix of a new exciting cultural experience, and some of the best powder I have ever ridden!!!!!

Accommodation was great, Authentic Japanese accomodation, within meters of main Nozawa gondola. Nice clean accomodation. Authentic rooms (small, with futon beds).

Breakfast authenic Japanese (takes some getting used to, but proivdes plenty of energy for big day on the slopes!).

Extremely close to nagasaka gondola, and 10min walk down hill to town.

Shared onsen bathroom (no private showers, again takes bit of getting used to, but the heat and healing of onsen water is well worth it!).

Good accomodation for the price. ). Already saving the pennies for a trip back there next year"

Geto Camp 88 guest reviews

Feb 2017

We have just finished day 3 at Geto Kogen. This place is incredible. Amazing. We have had fresh tracks every run since we have been here. It is deserted mid week. We had run after run in 50cm of new super light snow and never saw another skier. The people here are lovely if a bit disorganised. It is clear that the place is struggling with so few customers. What is staggering is that this place has great lifts, excellent terrain, mind blowing snow and it is deserted. How could it be this good? A number of us (there are two other old Aussie guys here) have done a lot of skiing in Japan and around the world and we are dumdstruck that we are having such a great time with the whole place to ourselves. Thankyou so much for the suggestion and support. I will keep you posted on the next few days which also look terrific. Pass this message on to Pete for me.

Rob, John & David.

Mid January 2017

Resort

The Geto resort is great. It's small, and there's some aspects of the layout that could be better (plenty of poling and skating required if you're on skis like I was, and snowboarders have their work cut out for them), but it's still a super fun snow playground. Not very busy, good quality snow (albeit a little denser than I was expecting), and some really amazing tree runs to explore. Overall, it's just a great little spot to have fun skiing.

Accommodation

The accommodation is good. Staff are friendly. Heated drying room for your gear is very convenient. There's a nice "relaxation room" with reclining chairs and big windows to gaze out on the mountain. The onsen is excellent, and certainly the best way to finish off a day of skiing. Their dorm setup works pretty well. The beds are enclosed at the top, bottom, and on one side, while the other side has a curtain. The bed itself is decently comfortable, the rice pillow not so much (or at least, I've been spoiled by pillows softer than a sack of dry rice), and they do keep it a little too warm in there (in my opinion) through the night. But it's perfectly serviceable for a night's sleep. The only real downside is that the food is mediocre at best, depending on if your timing is right to get it warm (it's buffet style). But it is extremely convenient and, for the price, what can you expect? It's fine considering how affordable it is.

Service

Japan Snow Accommodation's service was excellent! I have no complaints. You were very helpful. Thank you so much!

Finally, I've attached some photos. Hope this is useful!

Thanks again for your help!

Sincerely,

Travis Larson

Hotel Shirakabaso

Late December 2013

"We have booked hotel Shirakabaso trough Japan Snow Accommodation. All our inquiries about hotel were answered by the staff very promptly.

The staff also provided us with some hints and tips that were very handy for us while we were arranging entire trip to Japan. Thanks to the staff from Japan Snow Accommodation for our trip to go so smooth.

Hotel Shirakabaso is a hotel that can cater for everyone. For someone who just wants to relax or for a family.

As soon as we entered hotel we felt welcome. The staff were so comforting and helpful.

The rooms were cosy and were able to accommodate four of us and made us feel comfortable.

After a long day of skiing we would come to the room and go to the hotel's communal bath (despite our room had en-suite with the bath). It was a great cultural experience The bath also had all necessities to make this experience very relaxing.

The hotel's outdoor onsen is one not to be missed and it was spectacular, just feeling the cold of the snow but also the heat from the pool and just the piece and quiet made it a lot more relaxing.

After the onsen we would go to have dinner. This was a one of the things we were looking forward to every day. At first it isn't much but they just keep bringing more and more delicious food. By the end of dinner all four of us would be full as there was so much variety. The breakfast in the morning was very similar and would give us lots of energy for the day.

The hotel has skiing gear for rentals as well as some stuff for little kids.

Hotel's location is also very convenient for exploring Shiga Kogen by ski or by shuttle bus.

Overall the hotel is very cosy. The manager and staff are fantastic and helpful. Service were great and the food was delicious. We would definitely recommend this hotel for its hospitality and facilities and great cultural experience.

Family of 4 with 2 grown up kids from Australia travelled in December 2013"

We had a great time.

The accommodation was good (the only thing could be better is a description on where accommodation is situated when trying to find it for the first time).

We did not spend too much time in Niseko skiing unfortunately; we drove rather to Rusutsu the first days and went skitouring instead to find untouched powder snow.

Hope all is well.

Kind regards,
Bjørn
