We had a brilliant time in Furano and the accommodation Chalet Fuyuri was an absolute highlight.

Beautifully presented apartment, lovely, welcoming and very helpful staff - we really enjoyed our time there and wish we had stayed longer.

The location is perfect!

Feb 2017

We have just finished day 3 at Geto Kogen. This place is incredible. Amazing. We have had fresh tracks every run since we have been here. It is deserted mid week. We had run after run in 50cm of new super light snow and never saw another skier. The people here are lovely if a bit disorganised. It is clear that the place is struggling with so few customers. What is staggering is that this place has great lifts, excellent terrain, mind blowing snow and it is deserted. How could it be this good? A number of us (there are two other old Aussie guys here) have done a lot of skiing in Japan and around the world and we are dumdstruck that we are having such a great time with the whole place to ourselves. Thankyou so much for the suggestion and support. I will keep you posted on the next few days which also look terrific. Pass this message on to Pete for me.

Mid January 2017

Resort

The Geto resort is great. It's small, and there's some aspects of the layout that could be better (plenty of poling and skating required if you're on skis like I was, and snowboarders have their work cut out for them), but it's still a super fun snow playground. Not very busy, good quality snow (albeit a little denser than I was expecting), and some really amazing tree runs to explore. Overall, it's just a great little spot to have fun skiing.

Accommodation

The accommodation is good. Staff are friendly. Heated drying room for your gear is very convenient. There's a nice "relaxation room" with reclining chairs and big windows to gaze out on the mountain. The onsen is excellent, and certainly the best way to finish off a day of skiing. Their dorm setup works pretty well. The beds are enclosed at the top, bottom, and on one side, while the other side has a curtain. The bed itself is decently comfortable, the rice pillow not so much (or at least, I've been spoiled by pillows softer than a sack of dry rice), and they do keep it a little too warm in there (in my opinion) through the night. But it's perfectly serviceable for a night's sleep. The only real downside is that the food is mediocre at best, depending on if your timing is right to get it warm (it's buffet style). But it is extremely convenient and, for the price, what can you expect? It's fine considering how affordable it is.

Service

Japan Snow Accommodation's service was excellent! I have no complaints. You were very helpful. Thank you so much!

Finally, I've attached some photos. Hope this is useful!

Thanks again for your help!

Sincerely,

Travis Larson

Nozawa - amazing snow - but getting too crowded - good mix of terrain - plenty of nightlife (but hard to get into places due to number of tourists).

Tokawaya - amazing hotel - amazing staff - amazing service and food (but don't tell anyone as we want to make sure we can stay there again next time)!

Your service - very good - easy process to book - good options presented for our budget. No complaints!

Early January 2015

I can’t thank you enough for your assistance with my recent trip to Japan!

From the first email and all through the process you were professional, helpful and informative. You found us the perfect hotels in the best locations and you saved us by finding a driver when I called you after we missed our train!

I have already recommended you and your excellent service to my friends who will be visiting Japan this coming summer.

Thanks again and best regards,

Robert Laker

Mid January 2015

I just want to thank you for all your help with the booking and to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at Tokiwaya, it was a real treat.

Late February 2014

I had a great week at Nozawa Onsen

The snow was great and the mountain had enough challenging terrain to keep
it fun. To our relief, they didn't groom every run to within an inch of
their life like they do at Shiga Kogen and they didn't make a huge fuss
about going out of bounds and doing tree runs. The terrain is varied
enough that you could enjoy the week without getting bored.

Tokiwaya ryokan was very special. The owner/Manager, whose name I've
unfortunately forgotten, went out of his way to help and tried very hard
with his English. His unassuming friendly politeness was sriking, even in
Japan.

We loved the very traditional restaurant and onsen and the location was central to everything.

The traditional village layout of Nozawa really makes you feel like you're
in Japan. I'd rate it way above most Japanese ski resorts I've visited.

Only negative is that there are already lots of Australians visiting
(although fortunately not working there on lifts etc like Niseko) and it
became incredibly crowded on weekends when Japanese from Tokyo and Nagoya
arrived.

In terms of the booking it went smoothly and they knew all about me when I
arrived.

Steve Huntsman

Early February 2014

Our stay at Tokiwaya Ryokan was a amazing experience of Japanese culture and hospitality.

The breakfasts and dinners in the Tokiwaya restaurant consisted of traditional Japanese cuisine and would rival the Tetsuya Restaurant in Sydney.

The service was excellent and the rooms were clean. Only criticism is the lack of cupboard space in the room.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Tokiwaya Ryokan for the second year in a row and hopefully we will get a chance to go back again.

Japan Snow Accommodation's service was very professional and their advice was helpfully.

Late February 2014.

Hakuba was great, a few more people around however (compared with Madarao). Testu and the staff at brownie villas were amazing!

Testu took us out skiing and was around the clock going above and beyond to make our stay easy! Testu was just fabulous!!

Again I hope to return!

We also did a back country tour with Dave Enright, that to was just amazing!

We escaped our first day of rain, which happened too be our last day skiing and had powder to our bellies again!!

We all absolutely loved japan, the people, the snow and the hospitality!!

I'd like to thank you again Hisae for all your help and advice in making our journey so accommodating and fantastic!!

Can't wait to visit again in the near future!

Mid January 2017

Thanks once again for booking our accommodation.

Our hosts at Annex Aburaya were amazing and so accommodating. English was a challenge but google translator helped massively. It had a real Japanese feel and the breakfast and dinner was great. The ski lifts and slopes are just outside the front door across the road so a hop, skip and a jump and you are off down the mountain. Madarao Ski Resort is sure one not to be missed. The runs are perfect for all levels of skiing. Those who like a bit of off piste stuff well this is the mountain for you as it is aloud. We will be heading back for sure. If you are looking to get away from the now more popular ski resorts in Nagano check out Madarao you will not be disappointed.
Cheers Larissa

"We spent 4 days boarding in Madarao, staying at Aburaya.

Each evening we ate in the pension, and the food was amazing.

Although the owners did not speak much English, language was not an issue as they made a huge effort, and the hospitality was first class."

"This place was perfect.

The owners were so hospitable and made a huge effort for us. Nothing was too much trouble.

The meals were all excellent and on our last night we were really treated to some fine dining Japanese style! delicious!

The location was also perfect as it was right next to the chairlift. The perfect hosts and great value for money is how i would describe my stay."

Tomamu The Tower guest reviews

Late Feb 2017

I had a great time at Tomamu.

I like being able to stay on snow, at a quality resort, with good accomodation.

The snowfalls were a little small whilst we were there, however everything else was good.

I enjoyed the quality of the accomodation, the room was well appointed, comfortable and a good size.

Loved the included buffet breakfasts. As usual the service from Japan Snow Accomodation was first class, they are quite easy to contact and correspond and very helpful with any changes or requests.

Cheers,

Brennan

Mid January 2017

Thank you for organising another wonderful skiing holiday. Tomamu is a wonderful all round resort catering for families and the powder hounds with excellent off-piste areas.

The accommodation is very clean with huge rooms in comparison to any international ski resort (my tip ask for a slope view room you won't be disappointed).

There is a variety of excellent restaurants that do get busy, either eat early or enjoy a wine in the cafe while enjoying watching the night skiing before a later dinner.

The off-piste tree runs are excellent and the groomed runs cater for all levels, with minimal crowds and lift queues makes for plenty of enjoyable runs.

Families are very well catered for with the wave pool and ice village an added bonus for the young and old.

We look forward to booking another skiing trip with you for 2018.

Mid January 2017

Thought I would let you know what a wonderful time we had a Tomamu.

It really was the perfect place for our families to go this year. Accommodation was very good with great breakfasts!

We all loved how relaxed it felt with being everything in one spot. We could let the kids have lots of time to themselves knowing they were safe pretty much anywhere they went.

The Wave pool was a huge hit with the kids and the Ice Village was so much much better than we expected it to be.

Despite our rather messed up start with the missed flights due to Jetstar we had an amazing holiday,

Thank you.Attached are a few shots which you are welcome to use if you need to.

Early December 2016

A very big thanks to arrange the hotel for us.

We enjoyed our stays at Tomamu. I think two days was a bit too short. We all loved the place as compared to Niseko. The resort is more child friendly. We have a great time. The room was cleaned and spacious. Will definitely come back again.

Mid December 2016

This is our second trip to tomamu. Again the skiing and convenience for a family with young children was top rate. However we found the waiting time for dinner to be very long  especially at the more popular restaurants. The quality and value of the meals very generally good. The hotel Breakfast was excellent.

Mid Dec 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed then trip to Tomamu. Thank you for your recommendation. The set up there is perfect for families with young children.

The resort has many child friendly facilities like indoor play area, snow play area, Nursery etc.

The hotel rooms were comfortable and large enough for us to stretch out. Attached photo. The only small problem was that there was only 3 lifts for both guests and service staff in each tower of 30 over floors. So getting on a lift during peak hours could take a few minutes.

The skiing was very convenient. The beginner areas: magic carpet, beginner chair lift and toboggan area were right at the doorsteps of the tower hotel.

The ski area is not very large but enough variety to entertain for 4 days.

The food was of a high standard and there was enough variety. Although they do get crowded during peak hours.

The snow village was also very fun.

I can wholeheartedly recommend tomamu to families with young children.

Please let us know when it is ready to take reservations for the week before Christmas this year.

Pic attached.

Mid December 2015

We absolutely loved Japan, especially our time at Tomamu.

We caught the train from Tokyo, to Tomamu train station. The train trip was very cheap, and picturesque. We loved watching the land change, and when it started snowing it was hard to contain the kids excitement. We were totally blown away with how much snow laid on the ground.

We arrived at Tomamu Station and we were met by very friendly helpful Tower staff. As the snow fell we were ushered easily to our bus, and a quick trip later we arrived at the Towers. The staff were incredibly helpful and efficient, and our lack of Japanese was not an issue.

We arrived at our family room and once again blown away by the size of our room, and our beautiful view. The rooms were excellent.

The hiring of equipment was very efficient and helpful.

The breakfasts were amazing, so many choices, Japanese and Western. The restaurants were plentiful, loads of choices, good quality food, reasonably prices for a snow resort.

Loved the convenience store, and the tube like walkways.

The Ice village was wonderful, not to be missed!

Totally recommend anyone wanting a fantastic resort with loads of beautiful powder, no waiting on chairlifts, and a picturesque family friendly holiday to head to Tomamu!

Many Thanks for your help in making our holiday so memorable,

Early Febuary 2015

Tomamu was great. We have already booked to go back to Japan so we will definitely be going back to Tommamu. Norio san showed us some really good spots in Tommamu and we really liked the 'resort' feel there as it was something different.

I think it is also a great family mountain and would suite the families as it's easy to get to and is child friendly.

Cheers
Ben

Late January 2015

Firstly your service was excellent. Booking was easy, no problem with transfers.

We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so they minded our bags while we enjoyed the free wifi and had a coffee in the coffee shop. Our room view was spectacular but although we asked for standard twin, we actually had two mattresses on a tatami floor. We didn't query or complain (our mistake) but it was not very comfortable. Wifi in room was fast. Our only other issue was breakfast at Hal. Every day there were people waiting to be seated, yet there were empty tables. At our first breakfast we waited half an hour to be seated. Lots of options for dinner and the covered walkways made it easy. We originally worried that a week would be too long at this resort but it wasn't and we really enjoyed our stay.

Regards
Janne

Early Jan 2015

I loved Tomamu. It is a small resort so only needs 3 -4 days. I loved the outdoor onsen, it was absolutely beautiful. Fantastic to be able to eat out each night in the resort without having to go outdoors. We had fantastic powder snow and plenty of it. Awesome room in the tower and lovely breakfasts. Lovely coffee shop , wine bar also.
