Mid January 2017

We enjoyed our stay at Pension Locomotion. The owner was very helpful. The rooms were not very big but the biggest problem was the mattresses on the beds. We didn't find them very comfortable. Otherwise good value for the money.

Late December 2016

The owner is very nice and friendly. The overall facility is reasonably with its price. However, I got the basement room and it was extremely freezing when compared to the upstairs (breakfast area & common room). It seems that the heater in my room was not sufficient for its condition and size.

Mid December 2015

The Locomotion was once again a lovely place to stay, it had avery comfortable room & the location was wonderful as it was in a quieter part of Hirafu.

With only a small walk to convenience stores and restaurants you felt like you were amongst it all but had piece and quite when you wanted.

The Locomotion has a good board room downstairs and plenty of space in the rooms to hang up gear if you wanted.

The owner was really friendly and cooks up a great breakfast to get you ready for the day ahead!

The walk to the chairlifts only took 10 easy minutes and you could catch a bus 1 min away from the pension if you were felling lazy. It definitely felt like a home away from home so we wouldn't hesitate in staying there again!

Thank you so much for the help again with accommodation and we both look forward to using JSA again in the future:) Shane & Mel

Accommodation was excellent and staff were friendly and always there to help with whatever inquiries we had!

I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a fun laid back lodge in a great location of niseko to definitely not look past popcorn lodge!

Early January 2017

We were a group of 4 families comprising 15 people, staying at Naeba Prince hotel during 4th – 9th January, 2017.

We were glad that we booked the rooms with Japan Snow Accommodation early since we checked later there had no room available for the period we stayed.

We had a great time over there. The snow even could not be compared to that in Hokkaido however was considered good. The greatest thing above all was it was very convenient. Ski lockers were just at the ground floor of our hotel rooms and one of ski lifts was very very close just next to the hotel door. We will definitely go there again.

Best wishes,
Anchalee

Early January 2017

We love the hotel room and facilities. There are so many restaurants to choice. The slope and gondola is just next to the hotel (building 2). Just like ski in ski out. Kids playground is not far and fun for kids. The coupon system is good. We can use with many restaurants. However there is just one point l donot like. The Onsen is too small. We had a good time there and will seek a chance to go back.

Mid December 2015

We were really disappointed with the snow condition when we were at Naeba in December, 2015. Greatest disappointment was that the Dragondola was not operating during our stay and most of the run at Naeba were closed due to lack of snow. If we have not paid for the accommodation, we would probably go to other ski resort.

Except for the snow condition, the other aspect are all up to our expectation, especially your service.

Early Feb 2017

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising our Japan accommodation.

Your recommendations were fantastic and we loved every place we stayed, particularly enjoying the ryokan experiences at Hakkoda and Geto Kogen. I also want to say thanks for answering any questions we had via email.

Late December 2016

Sukayu Onsen was great and nice with friendly staff, of course not speaking Japanese (for us) or no English for the staff,  is really a limitation but we found in the hotel Japanese guest , english speakers who helped us when needed.

The weather was at that time quite ok, lots of snow fall ;-) ….The team for backcountry skiing from the hotel were super helpful AND extremely professional -All of them! Really adorable! They deserve to have foreign people coming …when I am seeing so many limitation on internet just around the langage barrier…I can tell you they speak enough English to bring you on tour! Our private guide named Satoshi was english speaker and we have had a super nice day of discovering and skiing with our son of 9 years old. Satoshi has been very patient, very kind and he really has customised our day in order to make it safe, agreeable and super fun.

Scenery in HAKKODA are just amazing!! Of course if the weather turns bad, there not a lot to do, however staying at Sukayou is a real plus….you can enjoy the onsen after a full day of ski or even without going to ski.Not sure staying there a full week could please anyone, specially in case of bad weather, the public snow resort is super minimal (just 2 slopes) and if you are in Hakkoda for the first time not recommended at all to go alone on back country-really to risky-Nevertheless, back to Paris now,  we are super Nostalgic, and I am sure we will come back to Hakkoda.

Our stay was a magic stay!!! really!!Thanks for everything and your great support!

Sincerely,
LEILA

Hakkoda trip and accommodation, snow etc was fantastic last February. Hakkoda is a little gem and what a beautiful park. The accommodation was really good. Like an old fashioned ‘hunting lodge’ with a very traditional feelin

Late Feb 2016

Sukayu Onsen Ryokan is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for traditional accommodation at a reasonable price.

The highlight of the hotel is the large onsen on the ground floor which is a great place to warm up and soothe aching muscles after a day on the slopes. The onsen is mixed but it’s very steamy so don’t let that put you off!

Rooms are tatami rooms with futon beds and are very clean and comfortable.

Meals are a highlight of the stay, with an excellent buffet breakfast and a ‘semi-buffet’ dinner, ie. several small dishes are served at the table, then you can help yourself to the main dish, rice, miso soup, salad and dessert. The breakfast comprises mainly Japanese dishes, but you can also have cereal, fruit and yogurt and toast if you wish. Excellent coffee is also available.

The hotel runs a free shuttle bus each morning to the Ropeway (cable car), returning in the afternoon. There is also one free bus a day to Aomori station. If you miss this, there are three scheduled buses per day, or you can take a taxi.

The skiing can be summed up in one word - powder! Although there are groomed pistes, the reason to come to Hakkoda is to find fresh tracks down the mountain, particularly through the trees. You could happily days here just skiing runs accessed by the lift, though for the more adventurous, hiking snow-shoes or skins will open up more opportunities.

Hakkoda is easy to get to from Tokyo and well worth a try if you’re looking for something different.

Late January 2015

The trip was very good, thank you! I appreciate all the organization and time you spent answering emails prior to the trip. The staff at the onsen spoke sufficient English to get by. It would be better if you had told me there is an option for room only, not including meals, as it is a bit expensive, and the food is only so-so. The mountain was amazing. We snowboarded in both whiteout blizzard and blue skies conditions. The snow was fantastic, and the guides are very organized. The other Japanese guests are very friendly as well. They knew it was my first time in back country and helped me a lot. One of the best trips I've had, thanks a lot!

Early Febuary 2015

This was my third ski trip to Japan. I have now had 3 months in total over 3 seasons. I have skied many resorts all over Hokkaido. This most recent trip was my first time skiing Honshu and took us to Nozwa onsen, Madaro and Myoko before our stay at Hakkoda. Over the past 30 years I have skied USA, Canada , France, Austria and of course NZ. I have had thousands of days on skis but never anything quite like our 3 days in Hakkoda. It will always stand out as a special time for my family and I.

As we came prepared for backcountry skiing we loved the Hakkoda experience and fortunately we had the visibility to explore the endless terrain safely.

The snow monster trees were spectacular.

I certainly would not recommend to anyone but the most experienced or super adventurous.

Without good weather you would require a guide for certain.

The Sukayu Onsen was my favorite of the many onsen visited over the years. We enjoyed the authentic traditional feel and Japanese food.

The free shuttle to the lift was much appreciated.

Overall it was a brilliant few days and we feel lucky to have discovered the Sukayu Onsen before the inevitable crowds of foreigners.

Late January 2015

It's my last night here at Sakuya Onsen. It has been a wonderful experience staying here, perhaps one of my best ever in Japan, and the sking was great too.

I just want to thank you for all your help, the accommodation you found me was top shelf. If you need some more detailed feedback, or any kind of endorsement please just ask.

I am sure this trip will not be my last so I look forward to planning the next one!

Sincere thanks - Ian

Mid January 2015

The trip went well, it was great. Great skiing and a very nice cultural experience. I am glad we went to the Sukayu Onsen, because of the traditional japanese type of accomodation it provided. The mountain was good, lots of snow :) We skied 2 days around the lift, when it was dumping, and the rest of the time we did tours of most of the peaks there. It was a really great trip, thank you very much for the help on the booking.

Mid Feb 2014.

We had a fantastic time, and really achieved harmony at the Sukayo Onsen

We would ski all day and then relax in the hot springs and eat great dinners together.

The snow just kept coming, and we had 5-15 inches of fresh snow every morning.

We slept really well on the Tatami mats, and enjoyed great Japanese food.

This felt like a very genuine Japan experience.

I would recommend Sukayo Onsen and Amori skiing to all passionate skiers or people who are just looking for a reset.

Please check out my snaps below

Early February 2014

"We had an excellent time at Hakkoda while staying at Sukayu Onsen.

The sheer uniqueness of Hakkoda makes it a must visit while in Japan. It was nice to get away from some of the more tourist hot spots and visit somewhere which had a more traditional feel.

The snow at Hakkoda was incredible as well as the scenery.

The traditional style of the accommodation was nice and the staff were most helpful even though they did not speak much English.

The only downside was that some of us got some food poisoning from one of the dinners while staying there. However in saying that we would probably still come here again but avoid some of the raw seafood dishes.

The communication that you provided with the Sukayu Onsen was excellent and very helpful while in Japan especially when organising small things like baggage delivery.

Thanks for your help

A pleasure to stay at Tsuruya.

The staff provide a wonderful service and are fantastic. If i get the chance to go to Zao Onsen again I will definitely stay here. Tsuruya provide a transit service to the ski lifts and there is a drying room at the hotel, making it extremely easy to get to the snow.

The accommodation was great. Zao Onsen is a wonderful location. While I have been to other locations in the Japanese slopes, I really enjoyed skiing here and enjoyed myself immensely.

I have attached two photos – one of the mountain, and one of the room we stayed at

Early January 2014

Japan Snow Accommodation provided an excellent service in arranging our accommodation on our behalf. They were timely and friendly and we experienced no troubles at all.

The traditional accommodation of Lodge Tsuruya was amazing and the staff were very helpful, even lending us their own personal snow boots one night!. I would not hesitate to recommend this service and this accommodation to my friends.

"Its nice to talk to you again. Below is my review, hope it helps

I also attached a couple of photos for your reference.

The stay was wonderful, hotel was great, staff were very friendly, equipment rentals were very easy and just across the street from the slope, which was about 2 minute drive using the hotel's excellent shuttle bus.

The slope access was easy too, there are many different pricing schemes for the ski lifts and the staff were more than helpful in showing which is the best scheme for you, be sure to consult the staff on which scheme so you don't end up buying the wrong card.

The hotel is literally across the Zao bus station which we arrived to by the 40 minute bus from Yamagata, nice ride, didn't feel like 40 minutes at all.

There is also a ski school which really helped us to capture the basics quickly in their 2 hour lesson.

The hotel does not offer western breakfast, so if you don't like Japanese food for breakfast there is a small restaurant down the street that serves French Toast and its very good, the lady and the cat (yup, a cat called Hana) are very welcoming.

Japan Snow Accomodation provided the great service and arranged the stay for us and payment was convenient through paypal.

Had a blast, definitely going back!"

Thanks Hisae, really appreciate your service.

Kind regards,

Omar.

"Tsuruya is absolutely SUPERB...!!! I'm really regretting that I only stayed there for one night only.

I already mark another day next year to go there....

What is the best thing about Tsuruya? Let me describe it:

1. GREAT hospitality....!!! Almost every staff there checking our group condition and schedule with genuine concern. Seriously, they always remind us to be ready for dinner, breakfast, and the trip to snow monster. When we were wandering inside the hotel, everyone try to offer their help without hesitation, even offer to take a picture of us together when they see us with camera...!!! It's the most memorable thing about this hotel. Although they dont speak english, they really try hard to explain things to us.

2. WONDERFUL room...!!! It's the most japanese ambience room we had so far..., complete with the traditional futon and yukata. It feels really japan here, and that is what we are looking for. It is very spacious with great big window view while the facilities are modern enough.

3. PERFECT location...!!! When we took the bus from yamagata station, it feels like we're entering the mordor valley because of the big snow storm at the middle of noon...! But right after we put our feet on the ground, somebody asked us where do we stay. When we said, "Tsuruya", he's so surprised -- as well as we surprised -- and show us that it's exactly located in front of the station, only ten steps away.... Nice!

4. SATISFYING meals...!!! We spent almost two hours to finished-up our dinner. We were stuffed and sated...!! And we got a private room for dinner and breakfast. Very unexpected...

5. BEAUTIFUL onsen...!!! We got free private onsen. It's more than enough for us who feels a little bit shy to join in public onsen. It's really an additional value for Tsuruya to have these private onsen...
All and all, 5 stars!!!

I cant wait to get back there...!!!"

"We had a great time staying at Tsuruya. Location is good as it is located right opposite the bus station.

No fuss in getting to and from the station as we just need to walk across.

The staff were very warm and friendly even though we can't speak Japanese.

Breakfast and dinner were included and we had choices with varieties. Not the same food everyday. Food tastes great as we love Japanese food. The pictures on their website are accurate in showing what they serve.

The onsen is not too bad, though the outdoor pool is a little small. It works fine. There is also a choice to use the private onsen for a fee.

All in all, we would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

If we were to visit Zao again, we will stay at Tsuruya."

We loved our time in Japan thank you Hisae.  Your assistance with bookings was very efficient and helped make the process seamless. We really enjoyed our stay at Ryokan Jon Nobi and the staff and locals we encountered throughout Nozawa Onsen were friendly, efficient and helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay for families. And importantly, the snow was incredible!

Thank you again Hisae for your help in making our trip so enjoyable.

Late December 2015

Ryokan Jonnobi is ideal for a family who want to experience Japanese style accommodation, in the heart of Nozawa Onsen village. Great location, handy to shops and cafes, and very close to the Yu Road [a travelator “road”] which delivers you to the Hikage ski trail.

Our 2 rooms accommodated our family of 6 comfortably, in tatami rooms with ensuites. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was extensive, catering for both Japanese and western foods experiences. Jonnobi has 2 hot spring rooms which are open to the public, as well as 2 private hot spring rooms for exclusive use by the guests; the latter 2 are open to the sky, so that the snow fell languidly through the opening onto our steaming bodies – a great thrill. Jonnobi ticked all our boxes.

The Hikage ski trail was a great family place, well organized with good instructors, ski equipment hire and plenty of eating choices.

The staff of Japan Snow Accommodation [read Hisae] gave great tips in the planning stages of our visit. eg. Take the bullet train from Tokyo to Iiyama Station and a bus from there to Nozawa Onsen village.

Ryokan Jonnobi is a 5 minute walk from the bus station. The whole experience satisfied all members of our family aged 10 to 74 years.

Mid January 2015

Many thanks for all your time and assistance with booking our Nozwa Onsen experience staying at Jon Nobi Ryokan. We found the accommodation at Jon Nobi very warm, quiet, with comfortable beds after a full day of skiing and the breakfast selection of Asian and western foods each morning contained plenty of choice for both adults and children.

There were two private onsens that could be used exclusively plus a male and female onsen open for all to use. These were all kept very clean and neat. Toiletries and hair dryers were also supplied in the private and public onsen areas that added a lovely touch. Kimonos and slippers were also supplied in our rooms for going to and from the onsens which were quite a novelty for the children.

Jon Nobi is situated in a great location at the top of the town and such an easy walk to the ski field via the moving walkway (Yu Road travelator). A huge plus at the end of each day was the ability to leave our skis at the St. Anton Ski hire rooms. This made the end of a long day skiing with kids so much more pleasurable than having to cart skis and poles back to our accommodation.

The slopes at Nozwa Onsen are great for families wanting to ski together and there is a variety of slopes depending on your skill level and ability with plenty of connecting lifts. There was also a large children's play park at the base of the slopes near St. Anton ski hire centre with rubber tyres and sleds that the children could use.

The only issues we had whilst in Nozwa Onsen was that the Ryokan style of accommodation was probably a bit too small to accommodate a family of 4 all with ski clothing to dry at the end of each day in our room plus all of our luggage. If there had been a drying room on the premises we would have had more room to move. In saying this, we wanted to try the Ryokan style of accommodation to experience a more traditional Japanese style of accommodation. Knowing the layout of a Ryokan and taking into consideration the amount of stuff we all had, we should have booked two rooms side by side.

The only other disappointing issue was as a guest of Jon Nobi we thought that we would have been able to dine in the restaurant at least one night during our stay, however we were told that the restaurant was fully booked during our stay. We since found out that the bookings were from people staying else where and not at Jon Nobi. We thought as guests staying at the Ryokan, we would have had first option to restaurant bookings. That was a bit sad Emoji.

However, the overall experience was wonderful and we enjoyed staying in a different location for part of our holiday. Many thanks again Hisae for all your assistance and for making our holiday in Nozwa Onsen very enjoyable.
